1440 — Design Highlights
Simultaneously, the 1440 is the ultimate solution for downsized living, yet its spacious rooms defy the compromises typically associated with downsized homes. The Azria technology and design palette asks homeowners to address many questions about downsizing. Is a 15’ long built-in closet sufficient to meet your closet needs? Will you be comfortable in a downsized home with bathroom-sized bedrooms? Is living in a single story ranch style plan a drawback to your lifestyle? These are just a few that we felt were very important. The 1440 is an single story open plan with large bedrooms (15’ x 14’) and built in closet cabinets. Large dual paned glass doors invite the outside in on pleasant days and our large overhangs protect those same glass doors and windows from rain and snow.
1440 — Materials
Our homes are supported by steel building modules. We love the benefits of working in steel and utilize steel with content that is between 17-20% recycled. Our incremental goal is to increase the recycled steel content of our modules by 5% annually in order to reach our ultimate goal of building 100% recycled steel structures. We also use non-toxic caulks, adhesives and low-VOC (volatile organic compound) paints. All of our appliances are Energy Star rated and our ultra efficient heating and cooling systems will keep you comfortable in the most severe weather. Without exception, all of our lighting is LED. We work with any buyers who want to integrate a tied-to-the-grid electric solar power systems. It won’t be long before the cost of water is equivalent to the cost of gasoline, and thus our homes conserve water above and beyond what is required by law. We use low flow shower heads, dual-flush toilets and under-sink flow restrictors and we encourage the integration of affordable greywater systems and drought resistant landscaping.
